IYAMD 155
Even though he thought it was a hasty decision, he did not regret it. Even now, with childbirth right around the corner, he still hadn’t gotten used to it, but he didn’t regret it.
This man should know that too.
Jaha kept caressing Marsilia’s face and let out a soft snort, feeling a sense of regret.
“Why?”
When the man, who had been quietly presenting his face, asked, Jaha unconsciously swallowed dryly and replied.
“Because I regret it.”
“Regret what?”
“I regret not being able to bend my waist.”
His stomach was now big, and he regretted not being able to casually kiss this lovable, pitiful, and bothersome man’s cheek.
He wanted to comfort the man, who was more dejected than him, the one who had to cut open his own belly, but he couldn’t.
“I want to kiss you because you’re cute, but I can’t bend down.”
He muttered, placing his hand on his swollen stomach. Marsilia, who had been pouting, smiled and sat up. He approached Jaha with a relaxed expression, as if nothing was wrong, kissed him lightly, and pulled back.
“Do you know? That it’s because you think I’m cute that I’m acting more like a child?”
“I know.”
How could he not? Jaha kissed the man’s cheek and whispered into his ear.
“I’ll indulge you until the babies are born.”
With a childish laugh, Marsilia leaned his head on Jaha’s shoulder.
“Then can I indulge a little more?”
“You’re saying that like you never did that before.”
When Jaha kissed his forehead, Marsilia closed his eyes, sighed, and responded with a slightly drawn-out voice.
“I usually hold back a lot.”
For a moment, their eyes met. Jaha understood well what Marsilia wanted to say.
“Do as much as you want. It will get hard soon.”
Marsilia gave a weak laugh and gently stroked Jaha’s belly.
“No, I won’t. I’m going to be a father now. I need to be more mature.”
“Don’t do that.”
Did the man really need to grow up more when he was already an adult at an age when he should have been spoiled?
Moreover, Jaha loved his childishness, so it felt a bit hurtful when Marsilia refused.
“I like it when you act cute in front of me. Don’t take that away from me.”
Marsilia didn’t answer. However, Jaha felt as if he had heard his unspoken response. The weight of his head, resting on Jaha’s shoulder, became heavier, and Marsilia shifted his head slightly, as though trying to find a more comfortable position.
Finally, the man stopped moving, resting comfortably against Jaha with his eyes closed.
“Aren’t you scared?”
He asked, eyes still closed.
“Cut by a knife is nothing new, so what’s there to be afraid of?”
When Jaha had to run around the Eastern Continent alone, seeking vengeance for his family, he had often faced dozens of swords. Compared to that, this was nothing. Just a medical knife. Plus, didn’t they say they would numb it?
Once the procedure was over, Marsilia would heal him without leaving a trace, so what was there to fear?
“I don’t like it when you talk like that.”
Marsilia, who had briefly lifted his head in surprise, grumbled in a serious tone.
“Talk like what?”
“Like it doesn’t matter if you get hurt.”
But what was he supposed to say when it really didn’t matter?
Jaha held back the urge to retort. He knew that if he said it out loud, the overly sensitive man would surely feel upset. Marsilia, as if knowing his thoughts, glanced at Jaha and clicked his tongue.
“I don’t want you to say that it’s okay even if you get hurt, even when it’s something small, like a thorn. It hurts my heart, you know?”
“Now that I think about it, I get upset when you get hurt.”
The first time he went with the man to defeat the monsters, even though there was no affection back then, he had been frustrated seeing him overexert himself.
It felt like a long time ago, but it had only been a year or so. It still felt like it had just happened, but to Jaha, it felt like a memory from decades ago.
Before he loved this man and after, he felt like a completely different person.
When Jaha rested his cheek on the top of Marsilia’s head, Marsilia gave a small smile. Jaha buried his face in the soft hair and continued speaking.
“I’ll be more careful from now on.”
“Mm.”
Ahaha. Jaha burst into laughter. The answer just now had a tone as annoying as his first impression, but now, it didn’t feel so bad. He still thought he was irritating, though.
This must be a good change, right?
Since meeting him, Jaha had changed in many ways. He wanted to live, he had fallen for the man, and he had gained a new family.
The fact that he could now dream about the future instead of thinking only about dying was all thanks to this man.
With a smile on his lips, Jaha bit Marsilia’s scalp playfully.
“Still, that was pretty annoying just now.”
Marsilia tilted his head back and looked at Jaha’s face intently.
“I’ve been thinking about it a lot. I think you might actually like that kind of thing.”
“That kind of thing?”
“Annoying and irritating things.”
His self-assessment was harsh. Jaha blinked, and Marsilia kissed his cheek and whispered.
“Otherwise, you wouldn’t look at me with those eyes.”
Jaha stared into his eyes and asked.
“What kind of eyes are those?”
The man’s eyes briefly sparkled.
“The eyes that say ‘I love you so much’.”
“You’re just seeing what you want to see.”
“Absolutely not.”
Marsilia answered firmly and kissed him sweetly and gently, like cream on dessert.
Jaha, still chuckling, tilted his head as the kiss deepened and wrapped his arms around his neck.
The sensation of the man’s tongue gently brushing his mouth made his eyes close automatically, and laughter bubbled up from him.
It had only been just over a year. So much had changed in such a short time, and it would continue to change. Yet, he wasn’t scared at all. Not even worried.
Somehow, everything would be fine. He felt like everything would be okay as long as he was with him. Jaha thought this as he lightly kissed the man’s tongue.
When their lips parted and their foreheads touched, both of them smiled simultaneously.
He didn’t need to hear it to know that the man was thinking the same thing.
The morning of Jaha’s delivery arrived. Having scheduled the date before the contractions started, Jaha got up and washed himself as usual.
Marsilia had a tense expression ever since he opened his eyes in the morning. He seemed completely unaware of the effect it was having on Jaha.
Jaha glanced at the man and then spoke to the court attendant, who was waiting for the anesthesia to take effect.
“Make sure to remove the womb.” (, “아기집” (literally “baby house”)
The attendant glanced at Marsilia and nodded deeply.
“Don’t worry, Your Majesty. His Imperial Majesty has already made several requests.”
Jaha had no intention of having more children. Two was enough. Marsilia agreed with him, so they decided to remove it now that its role was complete.
Jaha, feeling the sleepiness creeping in, reached out toward Marsilia.
“Will you be okay?”
He raised an eyebrow, looking at him with concern.
“What?”
“Is it okay to just have two children?”
A shallow dimple appeared on his handsome cheek.
“More than enough.”
He took Jaha’s hand, kissed the back of it, and rested his cheek against it. After letting out a long breath, he whispered with a voice that had softened.
“Honestly, I’d be fine with just you.”
“That’s a lie.”
Jaha squinted and gave him an irritated look. Marsilia, feeling slightly wronged, looked up at him.
“You’re so ruthless about these things.”
“You do it even when it’s not needed.”
I don’t need that to like you. Jaha swallowed his next words, pulling his hand free and gently pinching his cheek. Since the anesthetic was kicking in, his fingers were trembling, making it hard to apply force.
“I’m sleepy…”
“Take a nap.”
“You wait outside.”
He didn’t want to show his exhausted self to this delicate man. Marsilia hesitated for a moment but then nodded, his eyes trembling.
“Don’t worry too much. Just wait quietly, Mar. I’ll be fine.”
“…It feels like I’m being treated like a dog, but… I’ll listen to you today.”
Jaha giggled as he looked up at the grumbling man. His body was slowly sinking into the bed. Even though he was chuckling, it felt as if she were wearing someone else’s body.
Trying not to close his eyes, Jaha saw Marsilia approach and kiss his forehead.
“Sleep well, Jaha. See you soon.”
As soon as he heard those words, his vision slowly faded. Despite the surrounding darkness, he could still feel the movement of the twins inside him.
The sound of the twins’ laughter echoed in Jaha’s mind. He smiled faintly and waved his hand toward the fading presence of the children.
See you later.
