At first, he was baffled, but Sejun soon decided to look on the bright side.

After coming back, it looked like the Asura issue had ultimately been resolved with a simple “That’s what happened,” and he realized that even if the two had been forced together for a happy ending, he and Cha Dogyeong probably wouldn’t have really been happy.

It would have been like slapping them together with wet glue and declaring, “Ta-da, it’s fixed!”

A relationship forced together would have fallen apart at the slightest crack, or even without a crack, just with the passage of time.

And all that would have been left behind would be a pile of dirty debris.

Honestly, he didn’t know. Maybe it was because he got off on the wrong foot from the very beginning, but Sejun found it hard to even dream of a future where Cha Dogyeong loved him.

It seemed like the day Cha Dogyeong – who always got angry, acted irritable, and made a face like he hated him to death whenever he saw him – would ever like him would never come.

“But looking at the other world, it doesn’t seem that impossible for him and me to make up.”

“The situation is different from yours in many ways.”

“Even the summoned beasts are different.”

Ruya snorted.

“I suppose so.”

Sejun acknowledged this and, true to his resilient nature, quickly shook off his bad mood. To be precise, he was only pretending to have shaken it off, but regardless, he began leisurely wandering around the Association.

The looks people gave Sejun, who had reappeared after a long absence, were complex and nuanced.

No matter how much of a villain he usually acted like, he had become a hero who saved the world, so they probably shouldn’t hate him like they used to. Yet, it was difficult for them to accept this, as it had become a thing of the past rather than something that was actually happening.

Sejun didn’t care about those stares in the slightest. With a blank expression on his face, the only thing on his mind was Cha Dogyeong, who had been so cold toward him just moments ago.

And following that was the Cha Dogyeong he had met in another world, the man who had been willing to do anything for Sejun, the man who was certain of his love for Sejun.

Being loved by Cha Dogyeong was something he envied a little.

Tsk. Just as Sejun clicked his tongue, someone approached.

“What the hell?”

Upon hearing the voice, Sejun turned his head. A familiar face was frowning at him.

“Why are you here?”

It was Lee Dohun.

Just like always, the man who was just as quick to frown whenever he looked at Sejun, was looking down at him.

It was almost uncanny how Lee Dohun’s attitude was exactly the same on both sides, but if Sejun had to point out the one major difference between “over there” and “here,” it was that he had long since noticed Lee Dohun’s unrequited love, a love Lee Dohun himself wasn’t even aware of.

Unlike in Cha Dogyeong’s case, though, Sejun had never once shown him any interest.

In this world where the author had hastily resolved the plot, his relationship with Lee Dohun was equally ambiguous.

Since his relationship with Cha Dogyeong was a mess, the author probably didn’t have the bandwidth to worry about a secondary character. Fortunately, Sejun didn’t really mind that either. In his heart, he didn’t have the room to care about other men.

All Sejun knew was that Lee Dohun liked him. Choi Hangyeol too.

So did Ryu Sehyun.

…But in this world, Ryu Sehyun was already dead. That was one of the reasons the Association had fallen into such a mess. They had lost an outstanding leader.

“I didn’t really want to come either, but they said they needed me.”

After staring at Lee Dohun’s face for a while, Sejun replied with a smile.

Lee Dohun looked at Sejun’s face for a moment, then sighed. He began typing something into the kiosk located near where Sejun was standing.

It seemed he had come here for work as well. Then again, if not for that, he wouldn’t have had a reason to come.

“…….”

Sejun quietly stared at his slender fingers, his face, which looked a bit gruff when he kept his mouth shut but was actually handsome, and his slightly taller stature and broad shoulders.

This guy’s pretty good-looking too. Though I guess that’s just how he was designed from the start.

In this world, Sejun wasn’t interested in women, but he was strangely popular with men. For example, men like Lee Dohun right in front of him.

That said, the world had gone to hell before anything could develop with other men, so aside from Cha Dogyeong, he’d never really had the chance to enjoy a proper relationship. More than anything, he didn’t really want to do that sort of thing with anyone other than Cha Dogyeong anymore.

But it wouldn’t be Cha Dogyeong. In this universe, Cha Dogyeong liked women just as much as he did in the other one. It was obvious that if he didn’t end up with him, he’d have a girlfriend in no time.

……I don’t think I can date anyone else, so what am I supposed to do about this sense of injustice?

Combined with Cha Dogyeong’s cold attitude from their encounter just a moment ago, Sejun felt his anger growing as he scratched the back of his head.

Sejun scanned Lee Dohun from head to toe.

This guy isn’t exactly a loser either. Cha Dogyeong had been sleeping around anyway, and he’ll probably keep doing it. Why do I have to be the only one staying chaste?

The rising grievances eventually began to break through in a strange way. Sejun stared at Lee Dohun.

Even though he must have been aware of that gaze, Dohun stubbornly kept his eyes fixed on the screen. Sejun impulsively opened his mouth.

“Hey, Lee Dohun.”

“What?”

“Do you want to sleep with me?”

“Cough!”

Dohun’s fingers slipped and he accidentally pressed the ‘Start Over’ button.

A beep sounded as the screen returned to the home screen, Lee Dohun’s face turned bright red in an instant, and the people around them gasped in shock, but Sejun remained calm.

“You like me, don’t you?”

As Sejun spoke calmly while looking at Dohun’s flustered face, Dohun finally turned toward him and screamed.

“Fuck, Seo Sejun, what the hell are you talking about all of a sudden!”

“Anyway, let’s do it. From what I can see, you are pretty hot too.”

As he said that and glanced at Dohun’s crotch, Dohun blushed even more.

“Are you crazy?”

“Yeah, I think I’m sexually frustrated.”

“Fuck, Seo Sejun!”

Lee Dohun looked around anxiously. Everyone who made eye contact with him quickly lowered or turned their heads, but it was obvious that they were listening.

What was driving him even crazier was that he should have just cursed at Sejun for saying such nonsense, ignored him, and walked away, but he just couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Since he hadn’t said anything, Sejun grabbed Dohun’s hand and pulled him along.

Dohun resisted for a moment, but he couldn’t break free from Sejun’s grip. He looked as if he were wondering if this was the right thing to do.

As soon as the two of them disappeared, the space was instantly filled with the sound of people chattering.

It was the moment everyone’s phones started lighting up as they rushed to share the biggest gossip since Asura.

***

By the time Dogyeong arrived at the apartment building where Sejun lived, it was already late at night.

Dogyeong slammed the car door so hard it rattled. He got out in the parking lot, and stormed into the elevator.

After expertly pressing the button for Sejun’s floor, Dogyeong bit his lip, unable to control the rage boiling inside him.

If he had his way, he would have smashed everything to pieces and stormed up to Sejun’s floor, but parking the car quietly and taking the elevator was the last shred of reason Dogyeong had left.

What? What are you doing with Lee Dohun?

He was so stunned he couldn’t even speak.

Dogyeong had heard the news just as he stepped outside after finishing a marathon-like series of meetings. He wasn’t physically exhausted, but mentally drained, so he stretched his stiff neck muscles, thinking he should hurry home.

But there was one good thing about the marathon meeting. Because he’d been so focused, Seo Sejun’s cold expression – which he’d been thinking about constantly until then – didn’t even cross his mind.

But then.

“No way!”

Since no one was allowed to use their phones during the meeting, it wasn’t until after it ended that the other hunters started checking messages.

Dogyeong overheard them muttering in shock.

Whispers about whether Seo Sejun and Lee Dohun were apparently involved.

None of it was something Dogyeong could just ignore. When he looked over, the other hunters assumed he was interested, so they began to spill the beans on the situation in excruciating detail.

The story that Seo Sejun had openly told Lee Dohun, “Let’s sleep together,” and dragged him out.

It was so absurd that at first, Dogyeong laughed. What kind of nonsense was that?

But when he stepped outside the meeting room, it seemed it wasn’t a joke at all, everyone in the Association was talking about it.

That Seo Sejun and Lee Dohun had gone off to do that sort of thing.

Dogyeong suppressed the wave of disgust rising to the top of his head and called Sejun.

But Sejun didn’t answer.

Without hesitation, Dogyeong got in his car and drove straight to Sejun’s house, a place he visited so often he didn’t even need to set the GPS.

And that led to the situation he was in now.

Dogyeong couldn’t even properly define his own anger. Why am I so angry? Every time he hit a traffic light on the way here, every time he had a chance to calmly organize his thoughts, he tried to think rationally.

But the anger and irritation that crashed into him like a tidal wave were stronger than those fleeting moments of composure.

Every time he imagined Seo Sejun might be sleeping with another man right now, it felt like his insides were being burned to a crisp. The seething rage was just the icing on the cake.

And the target of that fury was obvious

Lee Dohun, that son of a bitch. Dogyeong chewed over his anger toward that one man, over and over again.
