Chapter 21 Physiological Education
As soon as these words left his mouth, Zhou Hui suddenly relaxed, raised his arms, and hugged the body in his arms back.
The heat rose even higher, and the blood vessels under the glands on the side of Shen Wanchao’s neck pulsed with his heartbeat. He had to expend a great deal of mental energy to barely maintain his last bit of rationality.
Zhou Hui’s explanation of the photo was extremely weak, and no one else would believe him.
Shen Wanchao’s rationality also told him not to believe Zhou Hui’s one-sided story, but after years of living together, Shen Wanchao knew the character of his bedmate, and he was willing to believe him one more time.
Most importantly…
“What should we do now?”
Shen Wanchao’s cheeks were flushed, and he met Zhou Hui’s eyes.
His body was still burning with heat. Did he really have to spend his heat cycle here, in their current relationship?
Instinct and reason fought in his mind.
Zhou Hui’s gaze slid from Shen Wanchao’s eyes to the side of his neck and suggested, “Temporary marking.”
“No!” Shen Wanchao’s eyes widened in surprise. “Don’t forget I’m only 18, Uncle, you’re going too far.”
Zhou Hui: “…”
The Alpha gritted his teeth: “Are you really going to call me ‘Uncle’ at a time like this?”
Shen Wanchao moved even closer, his nose touched Zhou Hui’s, and he tilted his head slightly.
Zhou Hui felt a light touch on his lips, like a dragonfly skimming the water, it didn’t even cause a ripple.
Thinking he had given him enough, Shen Wanchao, like a sloth, wrapped his arms around Zhou Hui’s waist and said seriously, “Go find the housekeeper and get the suppressant…”
“Didn’t you say you didn’t want to get an injection?” Zhou Hui raised an eyebrow.
In the heat of passion, Shen Wanchao would say things he would never normally utter, and act in ways he would never normally do. Afterwards, he would always try to excuse himself with amnesia, but Zhou Hui had known him for too long and knew he could actually remember everything that happened during their passionate encounters.
Then, he would occasionally bring up these embarrassing and infuriating things to embarrass him.
Now was no different. Shen Wanchao cursed him inwardly for being shameless, but could only pretend to be nonchalant:
“If you want to help me in other ways… I don’t care, it just depends on whether you can handle other people’s reactions.”
They weren’t the only ones on vacation; the Huo family of three, and Zhou Mingchen were also there.
Regardless of Shen Wanchao’s original identity, to others he was just an 18-year-old high school student.
If anything really happened between the two of them, everyone would assume the innocent Shen Wanchao was seduced by the cunning Zhou Hui.
Zhou Hui would then face social death.
Zhou Hui, of course, knew all this. He closed his eyes, clenched his fist behind Shen Wanchao’s back, then released it before reaching into the bedside table drawer.
The drawer opened, revealing three vials of suppressants.
The resort had thoughtfully provided complete amenities in every luxury suite’s bedroom.
Zhou Hui took out the vials, confirmed the information on the packaging ( it was the type for Omega use) and then expertly opened the sterile vacuum packaging, attached the needle, and handed it to Shen Wanchao.
“You… how are you so skilled?” Shen Wanchao asked.
Logically speaking, Zhou Hui should be like him, rarely using suppressants.
Zhou Hui’s expression didn’t change, and he replied calmly, “There’s no such thing as being familiar or not. The design of these injections is all pretty much the same.”
The closer the suppressant is injected to the glands, the better the effect and the faster it takes effect. In order to recover to normal as soon as possible, Shen Wanchao planned to inject it on the side of his neck.
After all, he hadn’t been in contact with this stuff for many years. No matter how painless the sharp needle was designed, its very existence was bound to make people nervous.
Shen Wanchao pulled aside the clothes around his neck, turned his head, and held up the syringe.
Seeing that his hands were trembling a little, Zhou Hui wanted to help him, but before he could speak, Shen Wanchao had already inserted the needle into his skin. He decisively injected the medicine, then pulled it out.
The medicine entered the subcutaneous tissue, causing soreness and discomfort. Shen Wanchao frowned and threw the empty syringe into the trash can.
A warm and broad palm pressed against him, and Zhou Hui gently massaged the medicine into his skin, saying at the same time, “Okay, I should go out now.”
Zhou Hui had left under the pretext of checking on Shen Wanchao’s situation; he couldn’t stay too long, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to explain himself.
The Alpha left quickly.
Shen Wanchao remained in the room, waiting for the drug to fully take effect and the fever to subside before getting up and going to the balcony.
The cool night breeze brushed against Shen Wanchao’s cheeks, still warm, reminding him of everything that had happened in the room just now, and he felt guilty.
He and Zhou Hui were legal partners, married for many years, and they had done everything they should and shouldn’t have done, the ordinary and the slightly excessive… he shouldn’t be so shy and flustered.
But for some reason, even though they hadn’t even shared a proper kiss, Shen Wanchao felt embarrassed.
Shen Wanchao wiped the warmth from his cheeks with the back of his hand and looked down to see Zhou Hui walking towards the courtyard of the Huo family villa.
Zhou Hui returned just in time; he had just entered the courtyard when he saw Zhou Mingchen get up, seemingly also heading back to find Shen Wanchao.
The father and son bumped into each other.
Zhou Mingchen’s expression was far from pleasant; he didn’t even call him “Papa” and directly questioned, “Why did you take so long?”
Several thoughts flashed through Zhou Hui’s mind, but in the end, he chose to tell the truth: “His heat is due, so I injected him with a suppressant.”
Zhou Hui initially wanted to make up an excuse, but considering the lingering scent of Shen Wanchao’s pheromones on him, he couldn’t leave without a reasonable explanation.
If he lied, not only would he be easily exposed, but his attempt to cover it up would only arouse suspicion. It was better to be frank and admit that they hadn’t actually done anything.
“Huh?”
Zhou Mingchen was stunned, then his face turned red.
Huo Tingsong also heard Zhou Hui’s words and lowered his head in embarrassment.
Zhou Hui, with a righteous expression, instructed his son: “Wait half an hour before going over, and don’t disturb his rest tonight.”
His candid attitude swept away all romantic notions about heat cycles. His upright demeanor made it clear to everyone that although Zhou Hui, as an Alpha, had unexpectedly encountered a junior’s heat cycle and spent some time alone with him, it was all out of concern for an elder, to help the junior inject suppressants. He had no ill intentions and certainly wouldn’t do anything out of line.
Furthermore, having been married for many years and already having marked his spouse, he wouldn’t lose control due to other Omegas’ pheromones. Even if something was inappropriate, it was understandable given the urgency.
Huo Yun then said calmly, “Since the young man isn’t feeling well, let’s go back early tomorrow.”
Zhou Hui was more than happy to agree.
The group sat down again, except for Yu Yangui, who excused herself by saying she was tired and left early; the remaining four stayed in the courtyard, drinking tea and chatting.
They were supposed to be chatting, but only Zhou Hui and Huo Yun actually spoke. The two boys, who would occasionally chime in, both lowered their heads and fell silent after Zhou Hui returned.
Omegas don’t experience their first heat cycle until around 18 years old; some consider this term too crude and call it the pheromone cycle.
Alphas only passively experience heat, but they also don’t become sensitive to Omega pheromones until around 18.
There were many Omegas at school, some carelessly emitting pheromones, but Zhou Mingchen felt nothing; in other words, he was still an underdeveloped kid.
Nowadays, people didn’t react with fear to pheromones, and schools had sex education classes at various levels. Zhou Mingchen knew most of the theoretical knowledge about Omegas.
But this was the first time he had found himself in the presence of an Omega during their cycle.
His dad was also an Omega, but he had never witnessed his cycle.
Suddenly, Zhou Mingchen remembered how, when he was little, he would be sent to visit his grandparents every now and then, staying for several days or even a week or two at a time.
After middle school, he was also frequently invited to stay with both sets of grandparents.
However, later on, Shen Wanchao became increasingly busy with work, often not returning home for ten days or half a month at a time, so Zhou Mingchen visited his grandparents’ homes less often.
Ahem.
It seemed Shen Chao really was a repeat student, a year older than them, thus entering adulthood before them.
Zhou Hui couldn’t possibly have missed Zhou Mingchen’s unusual silence.
He found his son’s reaction rather cute and asked directly, “Are you shy because I said Shen Chao is entering his cycle?”
Zhou Mingchen’s face instantly turned bright red, like a boiled shrimp: “Shy…shy my foot.”
“Shyness is a normal physiological phenomenon.” Zhou Hui patted his shoulder, “Just like an Omega’s heat cycle is a normal physiological phenomenon. Every Omega goes through it. You just need to treat it like eating and sleeping.”
Seeing Zhou Hui’s calm attitude, Zhou Mingchen’s relaxed.
Huo Tingsong also heard Zhou Hui’s words, and his emotions calmed down.
He looked at the father and son sitting side by side, and for some reason, he secretly glanced at Huo Yun not far away.
Huo Yun didn’t notice his son’s gaze, but smiled and said to Zhou Hui, “You know how to educate children. When my son grows up, I’ll tell him the same thing.”
Huo Tingsong was stunned; he suddenly felt that he was superfluous to stay there.
He was already 17. If Huo Yun wanted to take this opportunity to teach him a lesson, he could have done what Zhou Hui did and explained it on the spot, instead of saying he’d wait until his son grew up.
This only showed that the son Huo Yun was thinking of at this moment wasn’t him.
Huo Tingsong lowered his eyes, thinking he should have made an excuse to go upstairs with his mother long ago.
Huo Tingsong gritted his teeth. He finally forced a smile, and said to the others present, “I’m a little tired too. Dad, Uncle Zhou, Chen’er, have fun, I’m going upstairs to rest.”
Huo Yun finally realized Huo Tingsong was still there. He felt a little embarrassed, but this only lasted a moment. Once Huo Tingsong went inside, he returned to normal.
“Oh, everyone’s gone, that’s enough for tonight.” Huo Yun stood up. “You should rest early too.”
With that, Huo Yun took out his phone and, oblivious to everyone else, made a video call to his mistress.
Everyone left, and Zhou Hui also took Zhou Mingchen back to another villa.
After receiving the injection, Shen Wanchao had returned to normal and came downstairs to greet the father and son.
Zhou Mingchen’s last bit of worry vanished when he saw that he was behaving as usual.
Just as Zhou Mingchen had said, it was merely a normal physiological phenomenon, like eating when hungry, sleeping when sleepy, or needing to use the restroom when you can’t hold it in. Nothing to panic about.
“I’m going to sleep,” Zhou Mingchen said, and closed his bedroom door.
He acted perfectly normal, but Shen Wanchao still keenly sensed something was amiss from the subtle changes in his expression.
Shen Wanchao approached Zhou Hui and quietly asked, “You…you told them the truth?”
“Yes.” Zhou Hui smiled. “What, are you shy like Zhou Mingchen?”
It wasn’t exactly shyness, but it was definitely a bit awkward…
Seeing Zhou Hui’s smile, Shen Wanchao felt annoyed. He glared at him and said, “Uncle, aren’t you afraid they’ll misunderstand us?”
“Personally, I don’t care.” Shen Wanchao clutched Zhou Hui’s clothes. “I’m just afraid others will think Uncle is a pervert.”
Shen Wanchao tiptoed and whispered in Zhou Hui’s ear, “In the future…we should keep a low profile.”
After saying that, Shen Wanchao winked, briskly returned to his room, then ruthlessly locked the door.
Zhou Hui, left all alone: ?
How long will this crappy role-playing game last?
