“Everyone who can hold a sword, get out! Die after you swing it at least once!”

Another man ran into the medical tent and shouted. Men with broken limbs stumbled outside, but Yudit only gripped his sword’s handle. He couldn’t leave Shane behind. Bagon stood up and unsheathed his sword.

The commotion grew louder. Yudit saw hallucinations of enemies entering with blades every time the wind flapped the tent’s fabric. Bagon looked outside, and his face twisted into a grimace. Those who could fight went out, while the immobile ones cried on their beds. They knew their own fates.

“Reinforcements will arrive soon. Please move further inside,” Bagon said. He tried to comfort Yudit with hopeful words.

“Then Shane…?”

“I’ll take care of him.”

Bagon was only as tall as Shane’s nose, but he lifted him and laid him on the innermost bed. He looked at Shane’s pale face and whispered.

“I don’t know if it’s better for him to wake up or stay unconscious.”

“……”

Yudit couldn’t answer that. He just looked at Shane.

“Aaargh!”

Someone screamed, and a person-sized bulge appeared on one side of the tent. The round silhouette shook and then went quiet. Yudit turned his head away. He couldn’t bear to look at the limp fabric.

“Ugh…”

“Are you alright?”

His stomach tightened in an alarming way. Bagon asked with a worried expression when he saw Yudit groaning softly and holding his belly. Yudit managed a smile and nodded.

“I think I just got a bit startled.”

Bagon bit his lip and clenched his fists. He slowly knelt on one knee and took Yudit’s hand.

“I won’t let them touch a single hair on Your Highness’s head until my heart stops.”

“Thank you, Bagon.”

Those words seemed to move Bagon. He turned his head and took a shaky breath. His eyes looked red for a moment.

“Hide as much as possible. If they find out Your Highness is here, they’ll prioritize this place…”

Thud, roll…

Someone threw something into the tent before he could finish.

“Get down!”

Bagon covered Yudit’s ears. A massive explosion occurred, and the sound of things tearing and flying followed. Yudit’s ears felt numb even though he covered them with all his strength. He coughed from the smoke and looked up. He saw the tent’s front section was completely destroyed.

“Bagon, you’re bleeding…!”

Yudit was shocked when he saw blood dripping from Bagon’s ear. The loud noise had caused internal injuries. Bagon shook his head to clear the dizziness and carefully checked the outside. He saw the silhouettes of several soldiers through the smoke. They couldn’t see inside yet, so they didn’t enter immediately, but it was only a matter of time. Bagon stood up and held his sword. Yudit tried to stand too, but Bagon shook his head.

“Hide here as long as possible and pretend to be dead. I’d suggest lying on top of Shane, but I know you won’t do that.”

“…Bagon.”

“I truly wanted to see the world someone like Your Highness would create.”

Bagon gave a wide smile and ran into the smoke. His silhouette cut a soldier’s neck and then stabbed another’s chest. His swordsmanship looked more like an assassin’s than a knight’s.

Yudit pulled Shane down and laid him under the bed. He covered him with a blanket so he wouldn’t be easily seen. Shane’s body felt hot with fever when they touched. He felt relieved because that heat proved that he was still alive.

Yudit unsheathed his sword. He gasped for air. His stomach cramps grew worse because of the tension. He held his belly and whispered.

“I’m sorry, Ru. I wanted to show you a good world…”

I might not be able to show you. Yudit swallowed the words he couldn’t say to the child and took a deep breath.

“But don’t worry too much. I won’t let go of your hand no matter what happens…”

Maybe it was because he had crossed the line between life and death so many times since he was young, but he didn’t feel an unusual amount of fear. Yudit looked ahead with a calm attitude. Soldiers approached through the smoke.

“……”

The soldiers who appeared from the smoke wore the imperial army’s gear. This made sense since they were Imperial citizens.

He suddenly felt it was pathetic that fellow citizens had to fight and die for the interests of someone they had never met. War was a foolish business. Yudit stood in front of the bed where he hid Shane and glared forward. The soldier who saw Yudit’s condition hesitated.

“What’s this, a pregnant person? He doesn’t look like a woman.”

“Can’t you tell? He’s clearly an omega. They don’t usually send omegas to war, so the other side must be really short on people.”

Curiosity filled the soldiers’ faces at the mention”omega.”

“I think I’ve seen that face somewhere…”

Fortunately, they didn’t seem to recognize Yudit’s face. The thick smoke also blocked their view of the details. The enemy’s guard dropped immediately once they realized Yudit was a pregnant omega.

“This is great. I wanted to have some fun. Since there’s a war in the capital, I might get to do it with an omega. Long live the war.”

“You idiot, do you really want to do it with a pregnant person?”

“Why not? As long as he’s pretty. And young omegas are expensive. Your monthly salary wouldn’t even cover it. You’re an idiot if you don’t take it when it’s free.”

They treated Yudit as if they were appraising a product.

“But where should we hide him?”

“There’s a bed right there. Just do it and get it over with.”

“Then buy me some time so I can do it now. It’s almost over.”

“Crazy bastard.”

The soldier grumbled but headed toward the tent. The other soldier [visit our site]approached Yudit with a stiff erection.

“He’s completely frozen.”

“That’s it, be a good boy. Stay still if you don’t want your belly stabbed.”

One soldier glanced at Yudit’s stomach and tapped his sword against him. At the same time, he kicked a patient who was lying on a bed and stabbed them. The patient died instantly with. Yudit’s clenched fists turned white.

“Come here and lie down with your legs open, pretty boy.”

The pain Yudit felt about fellow citizens killing each other dissolved at the soldier’s words. Regardless of that feeling, Yudit walked toward the bed obediently. The soldier burst out laughing.

“I wondered how you survived until now, but you survived by giving your hole? Right, you have to live somehow. One brat whose father is unknown is a cheap price for a life…”

The soldier couldn’t finish his sentence. Yudit stabbed his sword straight into the man’s neck. He twisted and pulled the blade out after it cut the collarbone and carotid artery. Then he stabbed the man’s erection too. The man died before he could even scream.

“What are you doing? Did you fall…? Fuck!”

The soldier who had been killing the other wounded men noticed his dead comrade and cursed. He drew his sword and rushed at Yudit, then paused for a second and whispered.

“Purple…”

That was his last word. He probably suspected the opponent was Prince Yudit after he saw the eyes. Yudit felt glad he kept his robe’s hood pulled until the end.

“You piece of shit…!”

The comrade who was on lookout rushed toward Yudit. He was a head taller than Yudit and looked twice as big, but he was slow and couldn’t control his emotions. Yudit had learned from someone bigger who actually knew how to handle a sword.

Clang! Yudit tried to stab his neck immediately, but the soldier didn’t underestimate him and blocked the attack. Yudit faced him with clenched teeth despite the strikes being strong enough to throw sparks. He deflected most of the blows since there was a difference in strength, but his wrists already felt numb.

Also, his arm that was grazed by an arrow didn’t have as much strength as usual. The opponent showed countless openings, but the weight of his belly made Yudit’s body heavy. His stabs were blocked every time. If Yudit’s skills were only equal to the soldier’s, he would have died already.

The soldier realized Yudit wasn’t ordinary and attacked him without restraint out of fear. A low voice came from outside the broken tent.

“Why is it taking so long to deal with the wounded?”
